  • How do I pay for services?
Service fees vary based on the type of service and the clinician. Not all services are covered by insurance. Jennifer McBride and Gabriella Velez-Smick accepts Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Other services must be paid by the client but might be covered by out-of-network benefits depending on your insurance plan.

  • Do you accept insurance?

We work with clients who are considered self-pay. Under the No Surprises Act, you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of expected charges. We will provide this estimate to you.

    Cancellation Policy

  • What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations and rescheduled sessions will incur a full charge if notice is not received at least 24 hours in advance. This policy is in place because a time commitment is made specifically for you.

  • What is your policy for late cancellations and no-shows?
For the first and second late cancellations (within 24 hours of your appointment), a $50 late cancellation fee will be applied. The third late cancellation will result in a full charge for the scheduled session. A no-show will also incur the full fee for the scheduled session. During your initial intake session, we will schedule our sessions for 12 weeks in advance. This reserves your dedicated time slot; therefore, after two cancellations, you will be charged the full fee for subsequent cancellations, and we may not be able to guarantee future availability.

  • How do I cancel an appointment?
To cancel your appointment, please use the client portal. It is your responsibility to either reschedule your appointment or wait for your next recurring session.

  • What happens if I'm late for a session?
If you arrive late for a session, you may lose part of that session time.

    Therapeutic Approaches (EMDR & CBT)

  • What is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)?
EMDR is a psychotherapy treatment designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. It involves an eight-phase approach that helps individuals process upsetting memories, reducing their emotional impact and allowing for more adaptive coping. EMDR is an effective intervention that goes beyond trauma work, including treatment for anxiety and grief.

  • What is CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)?
CBT is a goal-oriented psychotherapy approach that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional difficulties. It helps individuals develop healthier coping strategies and improve their overall well-being.

  • How do you integrate EMDR and CBT in your practice?
Our clinicians are skilled in both EMDR and CBT and will work with you to determine the most effective approach or combination of approaches based on your individual needs and goals. We believe in a personalized treatment plan that leverages the strengths of both modalities.
